the georgia quilt show: a sewing extravaganza!

yesterday was the georgia quilt show in gwinnett (shudder, i know), and i went with my mum and a friend of hers, planning only to stay a few hours. five and a half hours later, we finally were done. and done. my dear old mum kindly treated me to a bevy of fabrics, while i got some bargains of my own (a handful of "quarters" for a dollar each).

we found a lot of new favorite stores, some local and some from far away, as well as a huge amount of inspiration for new projects. i know what some of you regular readers might be thinking - this blog used to be rock 'n' roll, but it's gone a bit martha. well, i think i might be moving towards a mix of crafts and music - an odd taste, but it's mine. so think of this blog as somewhere between martha stewart living and paste or a less-juvenile nme.

snazzy, innovative designs from moonlight design - using sweatshirts as a pattern, this company shows how you can make a quilted jacket, easy. i'm thinking of making one from cool, retro fabrics of my own, probably more tailored to fit. nice and cozy for fall!







african-inspired cloths to make jackets and such, from rf textiles. i'm thinking a hot pink jacket like this would be awesomely punk rock with a miniskirt and pink tights. rock.
