just thought i should mention that. also, not to seem biased... ok, it's obvious by this week's posts that i am. but i saw this artist on asian cajun's blog, and he's got some great obama art, posters 'n' t-shirts 'n' such. check it out at the artist's website, called go tell mama! i'm for obama. the artist is called cro. cool stuff.

y'all, we try not to get too political over here at theleila blog. but sometimes two awesome entities meet and join forces to create a mass of radness the likes of which have not been seen by mere mortals here on earth.

y-o-u's new blog for barack obama is a prime example of such a heavenly experience. named pleasebarack, as a nod to y-o-u's please rock moniker/website/horn+vocal section, the band's new blog is doing its part to promote voter awareness and participation. yeah it's obviously leaning towards the democratic side, but there's also a good bit in there about just getting involved in the process and working towards groovy things like the environment (riding bikes! using your own bags at the grocery store! meat loaf! ok, the last one isn't anything to do with the environment is just a recent post about meatloaf's songwriting partner. funny though).

so get on board the pleasebarack train!

here's an easy (and incredibly stupid) way for a music geek to choose a president. who has the cooler music taste?

obama and mccain have both shared their top ten tunes with blender (yes, blender, who are known for their amazing in depth political commentary), and i have to say, though obama's is the cooler of the two by far, i'm leaning towards mccain's slightly unhip list, with its inclusion of merle haggard and abba. here are the lists in full:

i love that mccain has not one, but two abba tracks. absolutely brilliant. this is surely a man who is not afraid to be himself, even if it goes against his tough, army man reputation. nice to have a surprise or two like that. obama's is pretty much what i expected, and will probably be more in favor with what my hubbie likes, though, yeah, i love all those tracks, who am i kidding? but if mccain had added a dolly party track, i would have been seriously torn.
